You’d never take a walk with me, would you?

More YouTube goodness today. This time it’s a performance by Pink, and while it’s much more recent (and political) than the Mary J. Blige performance I posted about the other day, I guess I find it powerful in a similar way. And much like Mary J, Pink is an artist whose music I wouldn't say I'm a fan of, but who I’ve harbored some sort of respect for all the same. Not sure why, except that I’ve always gotten the impression that she’s pretty “real.” Whatever that means, and whether or not it’s true, who knows...

But anyway, this performance, shot recently at Crobar I think, is kind of moving in its rawness and emotion. Yeah, the lyrics are kind of cheesy. Yeah, it’s an overly simplified political “statement.” Yeah, it’s weak in its ability to really convince anyone of anything. But what can I say. I wish more people had the balls to make such “statements.” Screaming “You don’t know nothing about hard work,” at the president is powerful. And overly simplified or not, there’s some truth there that I think is hard to deny.

I saw the same exact video on the same url this past weekend.
I found it very powerful also, and honestly, otherwise I wouldn't have had a clue who pink was.
But, yeah, she says some stuff that we would all like to shout at the prez, and I like that.
Cheesiness can be overcome by heartfelt soul, I think.
Personally, a dear mr. prez, FUK YOU, would have done nicely too!
